Episode Transcript
Welcome to the World Changers Church Gold Coast Podcast. Join us as we listen to today's message. You know, the cutest thing my wife did this morning, she, um, I always get up early and, um, I went out and I was walking the dog, which I now have, uh, praise God, and, uh, fed him.
And then, um, I was sitting on the couch just, uh, having a warm cup of water and tea, I guess you could say. And she comes out and she just stands there staring at me and I was like, what? And she goes, it's just good to see you.
It's just good to wake up and see you here. And so that was very cute of her to do. And then as I came in here this morning and tried to do Team Huddle, everybody was so excited that I was back and I didn't realize how much I'd missed being here in the last three months, amen? And so thank you for the warm welcome. Thank you for welcoming me back. But I know you had some amazing encounters while I was away.
I know that God has done wonderful things while I was away. And I'm looking forward to seeing what God does here next. Amen.
Now, in case you don't remember and you didn't hear what my wife says, my name is Pastor Kyle, but I prefer PK or Kyle. If you want to call me Pastor Kyle, that's fine. But just so you know, call me Kyle, not Carl, not Kylie, okay? In case you don't know me, you call me Kylie, I'm not going to respond to you.
That is not a term of endearment for me. So as I was writing this message for this morning, and yes, I write my messages, but I also allow freedom to yield myself to the Holy Spirit as he wills. So these notes are just for my guidance, but I'm leaning to his spirit today about what he would have us say.
Amen. But as I was writing this, we're about to enter into a seven-day fast as a church. And then we go into next Sunday, which is Vision Sunday, where we talk about what we're going to do for the remaining parts of the year.
But I felt like we needed to talk about alignment before assignment. See, a lot of times Christians, we focus on what we should be doing instead of who we are. We focus on the person Jesus instead of the personality of Jesus.
We focus on Christendom and Christianity, the size of the building, the facilities, the car parks, which are limited this morning. We focus on all these things that are external, but I feel like if you're going to achieve what God has called you to do, there's got to be an internal alignment before you step out into that. Amen?
So one of the things that made me realize this is a few months ago before I went to Darwin, I started running with Patty. And if you ever want to feel useless, go running with Patty because he will bring you to the end. I was like, oh, this is, I'm terrible.
I can't do anymore. He said, hey, you wanna run a little bit further? Yeah, maybe tomorrow.
And then tomorrow came and he's like, you wanna run that distance? No, maybe we should stop here. Because there was no preparation for the run, I told myself and thought of how I used to run as a cross-country runner, how I thought I would run, but I had not yet tested my ability to run. And when I went out running with guidance, I found that I could not run like I used to because I was not prepared to run.
A lot of times as Christians, we step out into God's calling without preparation. We step out into what God has told us to do with no thought, no seeking of peace, no seeking of wisdom, no understanding of purpose. And we just step out into it with our mind's eye saying, I can do this because God said so.
Does that make sense? So one of the things I want to look at this morning as we talk about alignment before assignment is I want to speak to you today about how you can know deep down inside what God's calling is for you and that you can no longer, I don't know how to say this, that you will no longer feel stuck. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
How many people have actually pursued ministry? Most people in ministry or in Christianity, they're like, what am I supposed to be doing? And that's the problem.
We focus so much on the doing that we become passionate about the doing instead of our heart posture. who we really are. Now this will work anywhere in the world, but the reality is is that I want us to walk with Jesus and know who we are in Christ long before we go to work for Christ.
Does that make sense? So you got dreams, right? Everybody got dreams?
Okay. Who wants to start a business? Come on, raise your hand.
Who wants to make money? All right. Who wants to invest?
Are you going to do any of those things without seeking first some understanding, having what they call in business a risk analysis? You're not going to do anything without some preparation. But sometimes we just get this idea in Christianity that God said it, we do it.
Now, I'm gonna challenge you today in that thought process and help you understand how that we can clean that up and be more successful in our efforts with God, amen? And if you take some notes, this might even work in every area of your life. How many got a vision for your life?
Like, this is where I wanna, I mean, anybody ever got to 25? Some of you ain't even there yet, praise God. But any of you ever got to 25 and was like, I should've done more by now? Try 47. Try 62, try 70 when you're like, I should've done more by now.
The reason is is because we haven't had the right people surrounding us to help us fulfill that vision because we've been trying to do it ourselves. Anybody ever wanna serve others or build something? Well, here's the truth.
Before God gives you an assignment, he wants you in alignment. Amen? So you can be busy for God but not be aligned with God.
Come on, I'm gonna say that again. You can be busy for God but not be aligned with God. You can do good things and still miss God things.
So today, we're gonna slow down and we're gonna realign ourselves and refocus on God and God alone before we get busy on the doing. That make sense? So Isaiah 30, 21, let's go there.
Let's switch it to amplified if we can. I'm sorry I gave you, I just wanna do amplified today, if that's good. One of the things I look at is no matter what you do, God is directing your path.
And thy ears shall hear the word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk you in it. That's King James. That's King James.
When you turn, all right, thank you, brother. And your ears will hear a word behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it. When you turn to the right hand and when you turn to left, God is always guiding.
He is never driving you. He is never pushing you. He is never pulling you.
He is always guiding you, amen? Now, my wife does the same thing with a little bit more effort. Amen?
She's constantly guiding me and telling me. And I appreciate that because if I listen, she's thought about it more than I have. God has had eternity to think about what he's asking you to do.
And when you first realize it, it's just a thought to you. And if you'll be guided by the one that's leading you, it will come to pass. Amen?
So this verse right here, if we can leave it up there, is beautiful in the idea of alignment before assignment. It highlights the idea that when we align ourselves with God, hear his word. The most important thing about this scripture is are you hearing God?
Are you hearing your mama and them? Are you hearing your friends in them? Are you calling Betty Sue and Sally to find out what you should do and rally route the family and try and get Survivor Island going and everybody feeling good about what you're doing before you actually do it?
How many times you get 15 people on the phone trying to make you feel good about what you do before you ever talk to God? How many times you need everybody to agree with you before you do something? That means you're being driven and not guided.
Even in business, if I don't know what I'm doing, I'm gonna go seek wisdom for guidance instead of being driven by ambition. In the spirit, you can have a lot of good things going, a lot of opportunities in front of you, but they're not God. So this week, this year, the next seven days, I'm asking you to, are you hearing the voice of God or are you listening to your ambitions?
That make sense? So because we learned in Proverbs that if we lean not to our own understanding, God will direct our paths, correct? So again, I'll say that before God gives an assignment, he wants alignment.
So many people ask what I've said earlier, Lord, what do you want me to do? Instead of, Lord, who do you want me to become? I have met a lot of nasty Christians.
that are good at saying the language of Christianity, are good at doing the actions and traditions of Christianity, but are not good Christians. God is calling his church, if we are truly coming to the end times, he's looking for a church that is in line with him. That you're no longer making excuses for your lifestyle, You're no longer justifying the things that you're doing in and outside of church.
You're simply saying, God, are you pleased with this? Amen? That make sense?
So if I started a business, I know I got some business people here today, and I know I may even have some people that don't know the Lord. So if I start a business and I'm a franchisee, I'm a part of a franchise, there's certain requirements I gotta follow even though I own the business. The same thing happens with Christianity.
You are the owner and the director and have the power to do whatever you want because that is a freedom you found. Amen? That's how you were born.
And then when you come to Christ, you have freedom from sin. but there is still requirements to follow that are found in the Word of God that actually mirror and reflect who God is. That's not a work.
That's not an ambition. That's an alignment. When I was in Darwin...
I was up there working and people were, you know, I was working on a job. I was helping a friend and I was taking some time off and what I thought was going to be some time off. And I was up there working and I realized that, you know, I was talking to one of the guys there and he's like, man, what do you do other than this?
I said, oh, I'm a pastor. His response was, I thought that. And I'm like, what do you mean?
He's like, I thought that. I said, man, I know I've at least hit my thumb. I broke a bone here and there.
I know I've not been happy the whole time here. Right? But he could see something different in me because of the way I acted and the way I responded to problems.
I would stop, sit still, ask questions, and pursue wisdom. Does that make sense? I wasn't worried about how it made me look.
I wasn't worried about whether people liked what I was doing. I was more concerned about the outcome and first aligning myself with the outcome before I actually worried about anything else. And the same thing happens with God.
So many times in Christianity, oh, they're gonna see me. They're gonna see my sin. They're gonna see my problems.
They're gonna see me mess up. Oh, they're not gonna allow me in worship. They're gonna sit me down.
If you're in a church that's sitting you down because you mess up, they are not following Christ. Amen? Same thing with business.
If you're in a business that comes down on you because you messed up, life is about failure that leads to success. Life is not about success that leads to failure. You understand what I'm saying?
If we focus on the failure so much, we'll never see the goodness that God has placed in our lives. Amen? Come on, somebody.
I'm getting fired up and I've been away from this pool pit for like 21 days, hallelujah. So here's the things. Assignment is about action.
Alignment is about position. Alignment is about heart posture. Who are you when nobody is around?
Who are you when nobody's listening? What do you say when you feel safe and you don't feel like you're gonna be judged? Are you throwing out son of a biscuit and all those other things that you normally wouldn't say in front of your other Christian friends?
Or are you actually that person? And if you'll be honest and watch yourself when nobody's around, you'll actually know what you need to work on. I learned so much about myself for three months in Darwin.
I said, man, I'm not as good as I thought I was. And I got a lot to work on, but thank God that Jesus is there with me to work on it. Quit trying to be perfect, just follow he who is.
And as you follow him, you will become more like him. And you'll do less of what you want to do, and you'll do more of what he does. Amen?
Amen? Get yourself in position, in spiritual posture, and get your heart direction right, and get your willingness to hear his voice right, and you'll see great fruit in your life. Amen?
So how do we get aligned? When our tires are wobbly, what do we do? We take the tires and we, I don't even know how to really do it, I'm not a mechanic, but they take them off and they put them on this machine and they put these little clips on them.
Sorry I'm sounding so stupid right now, but I definitely don't deal with tires. And they get balanced, right? And they rotate them on this machine to a point where the tires are no longer wobbling about, but they're perfectly aligned and running straight.
Sometimes when we have added weight to our life, maybe it's sin, maybe it's worry, maybe it's anxiety, we need to get those weights off and get the right weight put in place. Amen? We need to take off the things, I think Hebrews 12 says, you know, take off sin and everything else that so easily besets us and run with patience, run towards, with the author and finisher of our faith.
Amen? Come on, somebody. Get aligned.
So I believe that there are three spiritual postures God is calling us to to focus on this week. And I'm gonna tell you what the three are in case you wanna write them down, because I'm gonna fly. I'm about to take this plane off.
I've laid the platform. I'm ready to preach. So first one, the peace of God.
Second one, the wisdom of God. Third one, your God-given purpose. The three postures we need to walk in to be aligned with God is the peace of God, the true peace of God, the wisdom of God, and your God-given purpose.
So, let's break these down, and by the end, I'm gonna give you a seven-day alignment challenge that could shift your whole season. Amen? Now, if you just listen to this message, and you be like, good to have Pastor Kyle back, you've missed the point.
If you just live in this message and say, well, I had a great time in church, but you do nothing all week long, nothing will change in your life. Church is where we come through corporately to institute change. Amen?
To grow, to learn, to celebrate. This is not the place where we come in and find out what we're doing wrong and get beat down and have to come cry. I mean, if that happens, hallelujah.
But this is the place where we should be filled up and encouraged for the week. Amen? So I'm gonna go with this point here, the true peace of God.
Let's look at Philippians 4, six through seven. Do not fret and have any anxiety about anything. I've already failed.
How many, come on, be super saints, sit down. Everyone else, how many of you sometimes worry? Okay.
All right, so how do I not fret and have anxiety about anything? I'm gonna tell you in a moment. But in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition, right there is your answer.
In every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition. So when things are going wrong, haywire and all hell's broke loose, the first thing you should do is not stop and call mama and them and have somebody feel sorry for you. The first thing you should do is pray.
The second thing you should do in that prayer is make a petition and request from God with thanksgiving knowing that he's done it and continue to make your wants known to God. And God's peace. shall be yours, that tranquil state of soul assured of its salvation through Christ.
And so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Let's back up a verse to the beginning of that. Do not fret.
and have anxiety about anything. Now, everybody know the story of David and Goliath? If you don't, it's okay.
King David came to the front lines of the war with the Philistines, and this 13-foot giant was mocking everybody. Everybody was shaking in their armor. And he just came to deliver some grain and some water.
And he basically said, what's wrong with y'all? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that stands up against the armies of God? And what will be given unto the man?
I mean, I'm talking about some confidence. What will be given unto the man that kills him? I tell you what, Saul, give me your daughter. I mean, this boy's standing in uttermost confidence.
But I wonder, when he went to get those five smooth stones out of that creek, I wonder if for a moment he was sitting there going, God, I know you're with me, but how are we gonna do this? This scripture is not about being absent of your human thought. It's about understanding that God has commissioned about what you're about to do.
This scripture is not about chaos being absent from your life. It's about when chaos happens, God is there with you in the beginning, in the middle, in the end. This scripture is not about that you'll have nothing to worry about.
This scripture is that when you start to worry, pray. When you start to worry, make requests. And when you start to worry, give thanks to remind yourself that God will bring it to pass.
Amen? And when you've done those things, the peace of God shall be yours. Now, arrogance and ignorance, I've seen some Christians and some older Christians, they'll be like, I got the peace of God, I ain't got nothing to worry about.
And then when all hell breaks loose and nothing happens and nothing goes good, well, I guess the Lord didn't want me to have it. No, it's because you sat in stupid, blind faith and did nothing. God is calling you to do something when problems come so that the peace that is tranquil and it gives you that soul assurance and passes all understanding is based on the fact that you have prayed, that you have made petitions, and you've given thanks. You've done all you can do instead of saying, well, it'll be fine, God's will, God's bill.
Does that make sense? It'll be fine, God's will, God's bill. Let's look at Colossians 3.15.
And let the peace sow harmony which comes from Christ's rule. Man, I think of the peace of God, that sow harmony, like eating some good food. Amen?
You know what I mean? Like, when I eat some good food, I'm sitting there like, it just does something. When you eat that soul food, when you've been eating nothing but KFC for three weeks and you get a home cooked meal, it just does something to your soul.
It brings harmony to you. But this piece that brings soul harmony from Christ's rule acts as an umpire continually. Have you ever caught that? This peace that brings soul harmony, where is this soul harmony at?
From Christ's rule. Without surrender to Christ, you have no harmony. You are trying to do things your own way, but you have yet to surrender.
If you have not fully surrendered and put yourself in Christ's rule and you wonder why you're not at peace, it's because you have not let the umpire call the shots. Amen? You have not let the umpire call the shot.
And this peace that comes from Christ's rule that tells you what you should be concerned about and not is in your hearts deciding and setting with finality all questions that arise in your minds. Not everybody. Somebody comes to you and says, how are you going to pay your bill?
Oh, you ever had somebody do that to you? They got fears and questions and they come ask questions and all of a sudden you have those same fears? Yes.
Well, during COVID, during this, during Cyclone Alfred, my Jesus, hallelujah. It was bad for some people and good for others. And then everybody else says, we're blessed, we're not getting hit hard.
Well, thank you. My wife's been without power for 15 days, 15 hours. My Jesus, is she Satan's handicap or what?
No, it just means some people got hit harder than others. It just means that her peace had to come from the fact that even though she was without power, without food, and without this and that, she still had to lean on God while you were able to invite people to come eat your food. Amen?
It didn't mean either one of you are better. It just simply means that you have to set this umpire in your mind that instead of going, God, why did you do this to me? This umpire in your mind says, God, I know you're with me.
Amen? Anybody know what I'm talking about? I know I'm talking fast because I'm getting excited.
All right, praise the Lord. So before you go out, let's read this scripture a little bit further. Oh, go back.
Sorry, I might go. This umpire, extending your hearts, deciding instead of the finality of all questions, tell your mind in that peaceful state. Do you see the process of peace when it comes to alignment before assignment?
Back up. Let's review it for everybody. And let this peace.
First, you willingly accept this soul harmony that comes from surrender to Christ. First step. And then that rule will then umpire and guide in your hearts and deciding for you and helping you in the questions that come to your mind and challenge your faith.
In that peaceful state, once you have surrendered, once you have leaned to his guidance and not your own understanding, that peaceful state in which as members of Christ's one body we're also called to live and be thankful, appreciative, giving praise to God always. This peaceful state doesn't just come from finding relief. This peaceful state does not just come from you saying, well, you know, it's gonna be fine.
This peaceful state doesn't come from an excuse or a justification for your actions. This peaceful state comes from Christ's rule over your lives. Amen?
If you want this true peace, you've got to follow the voice of God. So before you go out trying to conquer your assignment, make sure you're operating from a place of peace, not pressure. Amen? God's peace is not absent of chaos.
It's his presence in the middle of it. So you cannot properly hear the instructions of God when your spirit is anxious, your heart is unsettled, and your mind is running wild. Alignment starts with peace.
Not just any peace, his peace. Let God quiet your soul so you can receive clarity on the mission ahead. You can't receive divine instruction, amen, when your spirit is in panic mode.
Peace is the first step towards alignment. Now what that means is, how many people have ever made a decision and you felt relief? Like instant relief.
And then on the opposite side of that decision, that relief, you regret. Nobody know what I'm talking about. Everybody know what I'm talking about.
Some of you have matured, you got your super saint shirts on and that's not your problem anymore. But for some of us, for some of us, we're still trying to figure out the difference between finding relief in a circumstance or a decision or finding direction in a circumstance. Does that make sense?
This week, ask yourself, am I operating under pressure or am I walking in his peace? Amen? Oh, Lord, I've only got through point one and I've only got 10 minutes.
Let's go. Point two, seeking the wisdom of God. James 1 and 5 says, if any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly without reproach or fault finding and it will be given unto you.
Peace gets you quiet while wisdom gives you direction. Peace gets you quiet while wisdom gives you direction. You know, a lot of time up there in Darwin, I found that I'd ask a question and people would just want to go do and not tell me the wisdom of how they're going to do it.
And I'd stop them. I'd grab them by the forearm. I said, no, I want you to tell me how you're about to do that because I need to learn too.
A lot of times we go to people, we ask them to pray. A lot of times we hear a podcast. A lot of times we do a lot of things for that quick fix, but we need direction more than anything in our lives right now.
We need to know that we're not just taking every opportunity that comes, that we're actually following the design of God of our lives. So many people are walking in the wrong assignment because they moved with passion but not wisdom. Well, I thought we were supposed to be passionate about what we're doing.
I thought we were supposed to, you know, oh, every time the doors were open. There's nothing wrong with passion, but if passion drives you, that's exactly what's happened. You're being driven, not guided.
Amen? Amen? Wisdom gives you clear direction.
Is anybody getting anything from this today? We need a strategy of heaven to walk out God's call or plan for our lives. It's because God's wisdom won't always make sense to the world.
It's often counter-cultural, inconvenient, unexpected, but it always leads to purpose. Many times in my life I've given money or given cars or given things or even sometimes I talk to people and I talk about money that's given to the church, they say, why do people do that? Because the church has a purpose.
If you don't understand the purpose of the church, you don't understand why you give money to it. You think you're just giving into my pocket. You think you're just helping me get rich.
If you see a Mercedes out there, it ain't mine. Amen? I went to work in Darwin for three months so I could help keep this place open.
Amen? That's what I do, because I believe in the purpose of this place. And I gave to it without grudge, willingly. Amen?
So if you believe in the church, if you believe in the house of God, the way you give may not be money, but the way you give has to come from the posture in your heart that's guided by wisdom. Everything you do has to be driven or guided by, let's use that word, purpose. So don't just seek the what, seek the how.
So our first point was find the true peace of God. Now we need to seek the wisdom of God. We need to know how we're gonna do it long before we do what we need to do.
A lot of people get upset when they go to join the worship team because we have some principles here and protocols that you join the worship team, we're gonna let you come practice with us and we wanna get you some vocal coaching and we wanna help you advance your skill with what you play on. Why? Because people are carnal and if you're up here singing in the key of C when everybody's singing in G, that's gonna mess somebody up.
We want you to not be perfect, we want you to operate in excellence. And just as we have guidelines as a worship team and how we do ministry, the Bible has guidelines. Why is he gonna send you out to preach when you ain't even read the whole Bible yet?
Anyway. I'm gonna get off that soapbox. Wisdom aligns your decisions with the heart of God, not just your desires.
Wisdom brings clarity in confusion. It brings order out of spiritual chaos. And it lets, how do I say this?
It lets you understand what's real and not every opportunity is divine opportunity. I mean, I don't know how many times I've been offered to come preach in Pakistan. And how I've been offered to preach in India. I've been offered to preach in Africa. I'm called to Australia.
Amen, if y'all can tell by this accent, I'm American, it's hard enough right now with all the tariffs. Yes, I said that out loud. I was up there in Darwin, I'd talk and they'd be like, so how's your president doing with all these tariffs?
I'm like, I don't live there. Quit taking it out on me. I think all you Americans should just go home.
Well, you just need to have some love in your heart, man. I didn't make the rules. I follow God here, amen.
So that means I'm gonna preach in Australia, so not every opportunity is God given. Wisdom will help you see that, because without wisdom, you will say yes to things that were never ours to carry. You can have empathy for people and welcome them in your home, feed them, guide them, and the next thing you know, you just got a leech in your life.
Amen? And you go to God, God, all I was doing was doing what you said. Take care of this and take care of that.
I didn't tell you to invite them into your home. I didn't tell you to give them all that money. I didn't tell you to feed them that way.
I told you to love them. You stepped on another foot. Amen?
Did I say that out loud? I did. Amen.
So this week, as... You seek God daily for wisdom in your relationships, your work, your choices. Don't lean to your own understanding, lean to his. Don't lean to what you want to do, because that's gonna present itself first, amen?
I came back skinny, and the first thing I wanted to do when I got home is the boys had like chips and all this dirty food, and I was just like, give me that bag of salt and vinegar chips, I'm gonna eat half the thing, because I ain't had them in a month, amen? And then next thing I know, I should eat a banana. I should eat an apple. You know what I ate next? Another bag of chips.
The first thing that presented itself to me was what my flesh wanted, but what I should do was present. What you should do, and the wisdom of God is always present. You don't actually have to look that far. You just gotta learn to listen, and if you don't know how to listen to your internal voice, go to someone that's listening to God and ask for counsel.
God. Thank you, Tiger Wood, for that little putt you just did. Anyway.
The last thing I wanna give you today is do you know why you're here? Do you know why you're on this earth? Do you know why you've made it this far?
I was looking at getting older at 47. And I was talking to God, I was like, God, I feel old. And some of you that are older than me will probably be like, wait till you get to this age, honey.
But I was starting to feel aches and pains in my body that I've never felt before. And I said, God, I feel old. And God said, age is a gift because some people never get there.
And then he said right behind it, and whether you think I'm hearing voices in my head or this is a thought implanted in partation, it's up to you. But then I had this impression that God said, because there's still more for you to do. If you are 70, 80, don't you sit back in the back and play I've made it this far, it's time to let young ones do it.
We need you. Because you know better than us. Amen?
Age ain't nothing but a number and King Josiah was eight and he totally turned everything around. Amen? Jeremiah 1 and 5 says, because I want to make this last point knowing your purpose, before I formed you in the womb, I knew and approved of you.
For all of you that are sitting there saying, why would God ask me to do that? Why not so and so? He approved you long before you ever got the assignment.
You just need to get in line with the God that called you. As my chosen instrument, and before you were born, I separated and set you apart, consecrating you, and I appointed you as the prophet to the nations. God doesn't give random assignments. He assigns based on who you are.
Before you were ever sent, you were known. Do you hear what I'm saying to you today? Before you were ever sent, you were known.
Purpose is not something you chase. Hear me. Purpose is not something you chase.
If they just let me preach up there, if I could just get behind that pulpit, if they just let me teach, if they just let me pray, honey, you're chasing it. But if you align yourself with God, people are going to look at you and say, will you pray? Will you preach? Will you teach?
Because there's something on the inside of you that makes you preferred above everybody else because you're not ambitious. You're not driven. You're just trying to align yourself with God and people will see that. You're trying too long to chase the purpose of God.
It's time to sit, learn, and be guided in the purpose of God with his peace and wisdom. Man, that's good. I needed to hear that.
Knowing your purpose begins with knowing who you are in him so that you can fully surrender. You don't need to force your way into his calling. You just need to come into alignment with who he has created you to be.
You are different. I love what my sister says often. I don't like being combined in these organizational movements.
Isn't that what you say? Yeah. My name's not Jack.
I don't live in a box. God has called you to be you. And as long as you are fitting in where God has called you to fit, And as long as you are doing what God's called you to do, it will not disrupt or bring attention to you.
It will align with everything that's God called around you. My God. Once you understand your God-given identity, you won't settle for a counterfeit assignments or temporary applause.
I tell people all the time, they come up to me and they say, that was a great word. Well, it sounds like people say that all the time. Sometimes people say, I wish you'd preach that different.
but people will come up to me and they'll tap me on the shoulders. That was a great word. I say praise God because it had nothing to do with me and I don't need, I do not need people's appreciation.
I'm not preaching for your approval. I'm not preaching to build a big church. I'm preaching to build a remnant for end times to be ready for his appearance.
You don't understand that. I can talk about you to you in private. This week, spend time asking God, who did you create me to be Where have I aligned myself with things that are outside of how you designed it?
Show me my purpose, God. I seek your direction. I seek your peace. I know it's not based on what I do.
I know it's based on who I am in you. So before God sends you to do something for him, he wants you to be someone with him. Let his peace settle you.
Let his wisdom guide you. Let his purpose define you. Assignment without alignment leads to burnout.
But when your hearts are aligned, your assignment becomes an extension of your worship. Oh my goodness. When your heart is aligned with your assignment, it becomes an extension of your worship.
Man, there's been so many times, can I be honest with you? How long you been in church? You right there.
Yep, you. Nope, yep, yep, you. How long have you been a part of church?
Years. How many times are you doing something and serving? There's one answer you can give me, and there's an honest answer you can give me, you know what I'm saying?
How many times have you been serving and just like, I really would rather be home? A few times, yeah? Anybody else?
As a pastor, there's been multiple times when everybody else has taken Sundays off, I'm just like, I wish I could just take a Sunday off. Amen? Amen?
That's because what I'm doing is not an extension of my worship. It's an extension of making someone else happy. It's an extension of making a pastor happy.
It's an extension of, I don't have to receive that phone call from sister so-and-so. You know who sister so-and-so is. Every time you don't show up for something, she calls you and says, where were you at?
Just stop answering her phone call, okay? Amen. Or if you do, say, I was just doing what God told me to do and it started in Hebrews chapter four with that thing called rest.
Amen. You gotta be a living sacrifice, and what you do has gotta be an extension of your worship. That made sense to all you servants of the house.
For you new Christians, you're gonna have to talk to me later. Assignment without alignment leads to burnout. So here's what I want you to do. Ask yourself today, am I walking in his peace, or am I pushing through with my own strength?
Have I truly sought his wisdom, or have I been leaning on my own understanding? Do I know my purpose, or have I been chasing someone else's calling? So today, we'll send an email out.
It'll give you seven or something. Patty, guys, help me do this. It'll come out in the next couple days. For the next seven days, we got a fast.
I'm gonna send you something that is personally based off of what I preached today. We got devotionals that are gonna come to your email. We got so much for you to help you through this next seven-day fast.
And if you're not a part of our email list and you wanna be, just come see Patty at the Connection Desk. But the thing I want you to understand is that for the next couple of days, you can spend 10 to 15 minutes seeking God's peace through prayer and worship. After those couple of days, day three and four, you can seek his wisdom through Proverbs and James.
Fifth and sixth day, you can remind yourself and ask God to remind you who you are. And the seventh day, you can just reflect. But you don't need to strive for your assignment.
You just need to surrender to the alignment. Let's pray together, and then I'm gonna invite some of you forward. Father, we come before you asking not just for tasks, but for truth.
Not just for opportunity, but obedience. We wanna align our hearts with you. Fill us with your peace, speak to us with your wisdom, and remind us of our purpose.
We surrender. not only the next seven days or the next week to you, we learn to surrender every day of our life to you. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
Would you do me a favor? Would you please stand where you are and someone will come and relieve me with what's next. I think we close out with prayer, is that correct?
Yep. Now, I'm not gonna make you move. I'm not gonna call you forward, but every head bowed, if you may, if you feel comfortable.
Every head bowed, every eye closed. For those of you looking around, you're in rebellion. I'm kidding. Every head bowed, every eye closed.
I had to make you laugh. That was probably a very different message. If you're here today and you're saying, God, everything this minister talked about today, I need implemented in my life.
Can you just lift your hand right where you are? Thank you for the hands. Thank you for the hands.
Thank you for the hands. Since there are so many of you that lifted your hands, can you do me a favor and just, if the person asks permission, would you mind if I pray for you? Put your hand on the person next to you and say, I'd like to pray for you.
And let's pray for each other in this moment as I pray. Today, how many would say I no longer want to struggle doing this thing? I'm ready for the peace of God.
So Father, we ask that we no longer seek relief We ask that we no longer seek relief, that we seek your peace even in the times of chaos. And Lord, we seek your wisdom that gives us direction, not comfort. Because comfort will come from when we know who we are in you and that's where we find our purpose.
Let every person here today find their identity so that everything they do inside the church is an extension of their worship. Everything they do on their job is an extension of their worship. Everything they do for their family is an extension of the worship. Everything they do in their relationships is an extension of their worship. Yes, everything they do in their relationships is an extension of their worship. But most of all, everything they do in this world Guide them, lead them, give them peace as an extension of their worship.
It's in Jesus' name we pray and we all say amen. My last prayer today, because we have lots of new faces. Every head bowed and every eye closed.
If you're here today and you do not know Jesus Christ personally and you would like to know him by your own accord, no pressure. would you just lift your hand right where you are and say, I'd like to receive Jesus into my heart. Amen.
Amen. Father, we thank you for those that are making that decision. We thank you for those that are looking to you and trying to understand you.
We thank you for each and every person here today. We ask you to bless them. It's in Jesus' name we pray.
In his name we say, amen. Thank you for tuning in to today's message. To connect or find out more, you can reach us online at worldchangers.life.
