Show Notes

This message unpacks the reality of divine purpose beyond titles, roles, or seasons. Purpose is not discovered through busyness, visibility, or human approval, but through surrender, obedience, and alignment with God. Even delays, frustrations, and unseen seasons are part of preparation—not punishment. Purpose is revealed in everyday faithfulness, in burdens that cannot be ignored, and in choosing God’s way over personal ambition. When life feels confusing or unfulfilled despite activity, this message calls believers back to clarity: created on purpose, for a purpose, and sustained by God through every step of the journey.

[00:00:00] Welcome to the World Changers Church Gold coast podcast. Join us as we listen to today's message. [00:00:07] You know, I tell you what, my wife's a tough act to follow. She's amazing. She's prettier than me and you know, amen. [00:00:17] We can all agree. Amen. [00:00:21] You know, this morning a few of my friends have showed up with motorcycles, except Paddy, you know, he's got a Kawasaki, so praise the Lord. [00:00:30] I'm kidding. I know, I know, I know. [00:00:33] But I was talking to some, some riders the other day and, and today we have all have a different preference on what style of bike we ride, from Indians to ninjas to Ducatis to Kawasakis. But they all provide the same purpose, no matter the branding, no matter, no matter what. They may, some may be faster than others, as we could argue, and some may be cooler than others, which some could argue, but they all get us to point A to point B. Just like a vehicle, they provide purpose. [00:01:10] And one of the things I want to talk to you about today is divine purpose. [00:01:15] You know, each year God leans, has me lean into this. And we're getting ready to start a message series that is not pre written. [00:01:24] God's given us a thought for the next few Sundays about all in. And it's about getting all in for the kingdom of God and it's about doing the work and putting your hands to the work of God. But that can actually get exhausting. Does that make sense? [00:01:40] Because what can happen is we can think that that all in means I've gotta be at church every time it has an event and every time the pastor asks or they make an announcement, I gotta be there. And you can begin to exhaust yourself and you can actually work out of your own effort. Effort because you're not living out your purpose, you're not walking in your passion and you're actually getting tired doing the work of God and getting weary and doing good things because you're operating out of the space in which God has placed you. Amen. Like, some of you here this morning are very prophetic. [00:02:12] And that means that God, you're leaning into the atmosphere, you're leaning into what God's saying. You're discerning hearts. And as more people come around, the more that gift is active. So God puts you in those communal spaces to be a voice to highlight what he's saying. [00:02:27] Many of you are teachers, many of you are missionaries, pastors, many of you do helps. And many of you would just say, I'm just a follower of Jesus. I don't even need a title. [00:02:36] The fact of the matter is, is whether you're a follower of Jesus or you have an office title in the ministry, we all have a purpose. [00:02:43] Amen. And I want to talk to you about that today. So today I want to talk to you about something. Every human being, every person that serves Christ wrestles with at some point in their life, and that's purpose. Can you remember the first time you said to God, why am I here? [00:02:59] Anybody want to be real? [00:03:01] Come on, we're a fun church. Anybody want to be real? [00:03:04] You know, it's not a career. It's not success. [00:03:08] It's what? [00:03:10] What is the point? [00:03:15] What's the point? [00:03:17] It's that deeper question that shows up in the middle of the night when everything's quiet and goes, why am I here, God? [00:03:24] Like, I'm doing A, B, C, D, and I still feel empty. I still feel tired. [00:03:30] I'm doing all these things, but this ain't clicking my Jesus notes. [00:03:35] Amen. [00:03:36] You know? [00:03:37] And can I tell you something? Being busy doesn't mean you're being productive in the kingdom of God. [00:03:42] Amen. [00:03:44] Because the greatest action in the kingdom of God first starts with love. [00:03:51] We are meant to love on purpose. [00:03:55] Amen. So most people don't ask that question when life is going, well, what am I here for? You know, they got the money, they got the car, they got the vacation, they got the job. They're not asking that question. We tend to ask that question when things don't make sense. [00:04:11] And I'm not talking about hard times. You know, a lot of times we focus on in church. We're just gonna get this out of the way. When I look at you guys, I'm looking through a microphone. [00:04:19] I don't like it. [00:04:20] I'm not correcting the worship team when I do this. So y' all don't get in trouble. This is just me. [00:04:26] How many times do we actually in life go, lord, everything's okay, but it just doesn't feel right. [00:04:36] Anybody. [00:04:39] And I think that's what I want to talk about today. This isn't about the valley or the mountain. This is about the inner being just saying, lord, I don't understand. Everything's good. [00:04:49] Like, see, I'm a chaos person. [00:04:52] You know, when things get bloody, dirty, messy, uncomfortable, I'm like, rolling up my sleeves, ready to dig a trench. I am a chaos person. I am happy when tornadoes, hurricanes of life are happening. I'm like, yeah, when everything's quiet and everybody's laughing and giggling and happy and Watching Netflix, and everybody's just happy. I'm just like, something's wrong. [00:05:13] I just can't see what's wrong right now. [00:05:18] But God's shown me that there's no joy in the chaos. There's just joy in purpose. [00:05:23] Amen. [00:05:25] I was designed to be strong in those moments and to relax and be at peace when nothing's happening. And I had to learn that. Amen. [00:05:35] So when doors close, when prayer feels unanswered, and when you're faithful but you're frustrated, that's what I'm talking about. [00:05:47] And if we're honest, many believers quietly think, I know God has a purpose, but I just don't know where I fit in on it. [00:05:55] Anybody ever think that way? Come on. Amen. But the Bible tells us a different story, and I want to talk about that today. God is a God of, you know, everybody's like, oh, God's mysterious. And, you know, as you walk it out, I'm just gonna kill a lot of sacred cows today with the word of God. The Bible never presents God as random, reactive, or accidental. [00:06:17] And a lot of language inside of Christianity today is random, accidental, and reactive. [00:06:25] God is not leading us that way. Genesis 1:1 says this. We'll put it up on the screen for you. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. [00:06:34] Creation itself was intentional. [00:06:37] You know what I'm saying? [00:06:39] Creation itself was intentional. [00:06:45] Yeah. Okay. Okay. For those that need a little bit more than that, when you had a baby, it was intentional. [00:06:53] Maybe not. Maybe so, but, you know, but it happened because you know what you were doing. [00:06:59] Psalms 139. That was funny, but that's my dad joke for the day. [00:07:02] Psalms 139, 13 and 16 says this. [00:07:09] Let's go to Psalms 139, 13, 16. You got that, brother? [00:07:14] I'll read this version that I got, and then we'll throw one up on the screen for you created my innermost being. [00:07:21] Right? [00:07:22] You knit me together in my mother's womb. [00:07:26] Skipping forward a bit, all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them to come. [00:07:32] Now think about that. That sounds like God just gave us fate. No, that means just like the M1, God created a road for us to travel on. Now, if we decide to go north, south, take some detours or whatever, we decide to do that. M1 has a final destination. [00:07:51] And it's the same thing in our journey when it comes to God, what is the purpose on getting the N1? And I know that a lot of us Are traumatized. And a lot of your trauma is going. When I say M1, you're like, oh, you know, and when they did the kumra connect, you're like, it didn't help. [00:08:08] And when, you know, you thought you would leave at that time to miss all the traffic, you got right in the middle of the traffic. [00:08:15] We have that trauma. But the road was designed to take us somewhere, not the struggles on that road. [00:08:24] The road was not designed to have struggles. The road was not designed with just exits and detours and delays and accidents. Those things happen on that road because of the people on the road. [00:08:35] Does that make sense where I'm leading you? [00:08:37] So this isn't a fated situation, but when we are walking in our purpose, no matter what happens along the journey, we can say, this is literally a part of accompanying myself with other travelers. But I know my purpose, so I'm gonna keep going. [00:08:52] Is that making sense? [00:08:54] I'm not saying the accidents, we should just accept them. That trauma, we. No, we got the power of the word to speak out of our mouth to avoid those, to leave on the right time to have angels protect us. We should not expect bad. We should be in great expectation of good. [00:09:08] Amen. [00:09:09] Is that good? [00:09:11] So as God has got a purpose. Jeremiah 1 and 5 says, Before I formed you, I knew you. Before I formed you in your mother's womb, before you were born, I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. [00:09:26] God told me. [00:09:29] I don't know. However old Alex is now, 23. 23 years ago, I'd live in Australia and I'd be a pastor. [00:09:37] 22. Yeah, 22. He was one. [00:09:40] When I said that to my wife, she goes, you married the wrong person. [00:09:45] Not because of Australia, but because she didn't see herself as a pastor's wife. [00:09:51] But at that moment, we both knew that ministry would take us somewhere that God designed because God was speaking. Am I making sense to everyone? [00:10:00] Okay, so that means your personality was an accident. [00:10:10] Your wiring wasn't a mistake. [00:10:14] Some of the things that have happened to you has tried to rewire you. And you may need to get some circuit boards changed and align them with the word of God. [00:10:22] But your original design has. God created you in your mother's womb, where we need to return to free from sin because of Jesus. [00:10:34] Amen. And here's another thing. [00:10:37] Your story, the time, however long it took you to come to Christ, did not surprise or catch God off guard. [00:10:47] Amen. [00:10:49] Does that make sense? [00:10:51] Ephesians 2:10 says, God is a God. Of purpose. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. [00:11:01] For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. We are God's craftsmanship. [00:11:12] He has created us anew because of who? [00:11:17] Christ. [00:11:18] Amen. So that we could do the things he's called us to do long ago. [00:11:23] The reality is, people, that who you were before Christ and what happened to you throughout life, God's not surprised about, because he had a plan to send Jesus with a purpose to correct all that so that you could live on purpose. [00:11:37] Amen. [00:11:38] Does that make sense? [00:11:39] This is good. I like it. [00:11:41] So if God prepared his works in advance, then your life, your life and where it's leading to was not an afterthought. [00:11:53] Well, hold on a minute. That means God is responsible for all the bad in my life. God's. I'm not talking about sovereignty. And God put all these negative things and sickness in your way. [00:12:02] Like a father. [00:12:04] When I was raising my children, I was creating a pathway to the best of my ability that would lead my children to a destination of adulthood. And I'd hope that I'd created enough in them that they could live on purpose and that that pathway would continue. [00:12:21] I didn't set traps for them. [00:12:25] I'm gonna put a little detour and delay. I'm gonna put. You know what? I'm gonna put sour buttermilk instead of milk for their cereal and see how they react. [00:12:36] I'm gonna get some. Just some nasty bacteria from a daycare and just spread it all over the house to get them sick so they learn how to live through and have testimonies of overcoming. No. [00:12:49] And if I don't do that as a natural father, then guess who doesn't do the same thing. [00:12:57] Everything that happens in your life that is negative is the enemy trying to get you to take a detour from the purpose of your life. Everything that happens in your life is the enemy trying to get you off the road. Everything that happens in your life is to put a stop and a memory and a thumbprint in you that every time God tries to show up, you try and run this way. But God is calling you back to his design so that you can live on purpose, fulfilled, happy and free. [00:13:22] Amen. [00:13:25] Come on, somebody. [00:13:27] You were created on purpose, therefore you were created for a purpose. [00:13:35] So the expectation versus reality is what can get confusing. [00:13:40] Christianity has created such narcissism. [00:13:44] I'm just going to call it what it is. [00:13:46] So let's be honest. Most of most of us thought purpose would be clearer. [00:13:51] We expected a burning bush, an audible voice, at least a divine email with some bullet points. [00:14:00] You know, like somehow instead we got responsibilities, freshers, people who test our patience and sandpaper our grace. [00:14:11] Amen. [00:14:12] Welcome to the real world. [00:14:15] But Proverbs tells us in 16, nine, look at this. We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. [00:14:25] You can think your way through life all you want, but the Lord is saying, you know what? You should probably not do that and go this way because he's got the right way for you to travel. [00:14:37] Well, where is my decision making? [00:14:40] Where is what I get to do? Well, you get to choose to follow someone that is the creator of heaven and earth and divine infinite wisdom to lead you and guide you through your whole life, or you get to make your own decisions with half hearted, finite wisdom. [00:14:59] Yay. [00:15:00] I want to do it my way for a while. [00:15:02] You go right ahead. We'll come right back to zero and we'll start choosing God again. Amen. [00:15:09] Let the Lord do away with your expectations of what you should get from him. [00:15:17] That's spoiledness, that's narcissism. And just walk in what God has given, which is far greater than you could possibly imagine or think. [00:15:26] Amen. [00:15:29] We want the full plan, but God gives us the next step. [00:15:34] If God told, I don't know, let's pick somebody in the Bible, Hey, John, love Jesus, cool, but in the end, you're gonna be boiled and put on an island by yourself and eventually you'll get freed. Would he love Jesus as much as he did? I don't know. That's just hypothetical. You don't know the whole plan because your human may not make the choice. [00:15:59] God reveals to you what you can handle as next. And sometimes he doesn't reveal the whole plan because there's strength you need to build along the way. There's faith you need to build along the way. There's people you need to meet along the way. There's growth along the way. [00:16:15] So we want the full plan, but God gives us the next step. Purpose usually requires obedience before clarity. [00:16:24] Okay, this is where the pastor says, sign up at the volunteer desk. You know, get in and serve until you know what God has you to do. Actually, no, please do not become somebody that's complaining every week because you don't know what you're supposed to do. And ushering is just not your calling. And you keep jumping from thing to thing and thing and thing and thing in the body of Christ and in the church, but because you just don't know. [00:16:50] Purpose is bigger than your role. [00:16:55] Purpose is bigger than your role. I'm about to say some things very powerful. I hope. If you've checked out, stopped listening, got offended, got mad, say, I'm never coming back, Pause, listen, and then do all those other things. All right? [00:17:09] One of the biggest lies believers carry is, my purpose is what I do. [00:17:17] No, what flows from your purpose. [00:17:21] That's what you do. [00:17:24] But it isn't. They aren't the same thing. Your job is not your purpose. Your title is not your purpose. Your season is not your purpose. Look at Colossians 3 and 23. [00:17:33] Work willingly in whatever you do. That's like saying, you know, that's like throwing all that aside. Work willing in whatever you. And as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. [00:17:43] Your purpose is to first do it for God, not you. Do it for God, not others. Your first alignment is to do it for Jesus. [00:17:53] Amen. [00:17:55] If I do this, they'll give me an opportunity to preach. [00:17:58] Wrong heart, wrong agenda. [00:18:00] Well, if I do this, they'll let me pray. Wrong heart, wrong agenda. Well, if I do this and I say this, they'll make a way for me, and maybe they'll like me, but, mm, man approval, wrong purpose. [00:18:12] Rejection issues. [00:18:14] I wanna tell you right now, I love each and every one of you. And I never judge you, criticize you. Look at your height, your weight, your color, where you're from. It doesn't matter to me. [00:18:22] I just wanna know that you know. Jesus. [00:18:24] Amen. Purpose isn't about where you work. [00:18:28] It's about who you're working for. [00:18:33] Matthew 5:16 says this. [00:18:37] Let your light shine in the same way. Let your deeds shine out for all to see so that everyone will praise you. [00:18:48] So that everyone will see what you do. [00:18:51] So that you can live vicariously through others and feel good about helping others. [00:18:55] No, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Father. Come on, somebody. [00:19:05] Purpose is revealed. [00:19:08] Purpose is revealed through obedience, not visibility. [00:19:13] There is so many things I do that you don't know that I do. And you all see me up here, but there's so many things I do because I'm not out going, boop, boop. Look what Kyle's done again. Hey, Facebook just fed a homeless person. [00:19:29] Just stopped and, you know, talked to someone randomly in the parking lot that looked like they were about to commit suicide, prayed for them, and it was all good. Jesus, there's things that I do that the Holy Spirit leads me. To do that is for the moment and not for everybody to see. They're just obedient, and they live inside of purpose. [00:19:48] Amen. [00:19:51] Look at this. Joseph's purpose. Through the process, Joseph receives a dream from God in Genesis 37. But the dream didn't protect him from betrayal, didn't protect him from the pit, didn't protect him from prison, and it sure did cause some delays. [00:20:11] Hold on a second. God. [00:20:15] Robe of many cubs. Listen, you're not always gonna have to go through betrayal. You're not always gonna have to go through the pit. You're not always gonna have to go through prison. You're not always gonna have to go through delay that someone else has. And they came through it because of God. And that's the purpose, to keep following him. [00:20:34] So Genesis 39, 2 keeps repeating, the Lord was with Joseph, the Lord was with Joseph. Is the Lord with you today? [00:20:48] Nah, man. Is he with you today? [00:20:50] Okay. If the Lord be for you, who can be against you? Amen. [00:20:55] If the Lord is with you, then when you're weak, he is strong. When you're foolish, he is wise. He shall supply all your needs according to his riches and glory. And I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. If the Lord is with you, no matter what you're going through, no matter what you're going over or going under, the Lord is with you, and you can. [00:21:12] Amen. [00:21:16] You know, one time I was working out, and this is where you don't do it. I had two plates on each side and, like, a. [00:21:24] Another little plate. Cause I'd love to say they were three, but that give you the impression that I had three big plates and, you know, how you doin'? You see those guys? [00:21:34] They sit down and they rock, and they prepare their mind and they slap themselves. Gorilla guys. I was doing some of that same thing, but I was praying. I was like, I'm gonna get. This was back. When I worked out and I laid down, I was arched my back. Come on, Lord. We got this. [00:21:48] Come on, Lord. We got this. Ugh. And the Holy Spirit responded back. Yeah, that's you. [00:21:56] The things I'm talking about live inside the spiritual realm. And the willpower and the tenacity to keep moving forward when the world says stop. [00:22:07] The ability to believe that stage 4 cancer will be healed by words and a prayer. [00:22:14] The ability to push past fear and betrayal and pain and delay and say, I know God's still with me. Those are the things I'm talking about. [00:22:23] Amen. [00:22:24] Genesis 15:20 says, you intended harm for me, but God intended it for good. You intended harm for me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. Joseph didn't look back and say, I went through the pit. Didn't you see that? I went through betrayal. Didn't you see that I went through prison. Didn't you see that I went through delay. Didn't you see that? No. He said, I came through all this because God is with me. And because of that, he put me in position to save the lives of many people. [00:22:59] Man, man, man. You know what I mean? All I need is an organ, folks. [00:23:04] Praise the Lord. [00:23:06] Hallelujah. [00:23:07] Delay isn't denial. [00:23:10] It's the process of preparation. [00:23:16] Sometimes things are being delayed because you ain't ready to carry the weight of what God's given you. [00:23:20] I had a man tell me I dislike this man in this moment. [00:23:26] I have no one in this church to compare him to. [00:23:28] But he was a major, major man of God. And he was a prophet. [00:23:32] And he looked at me with all the love in his heart. [00:23:35] He was mentoring me. And he said, kyle, I gotta tell you something. You're anointed, man. You're anointed. You're anointed. You're anointed. He told me all the ways I was anointed, but he says, your character doesn't line up. [00:23:49] He said, until your character comes to the place of maturity, your anointing will never come full forward. [00:23:56] And I said, huh? And he looked at me and said, you're going to go through things not because God's doing them to you, but because you made the choice to go through them. Because you wanted to show everybody you're tough enough. You want to show everybody you can, and you got something to prove. But he said, one day, you're gonna choose God over all that. You're gonna humbly sit back and let God do it. And that's when your character and anointing are aligned. [00:24:20] Amen. [00:24:22] So things may not be working for you just because you've been resisting the growth God has for you. [00:24:29] Amen. [00:24:30] I know that didn't feel good. We can't really clap on that one. But, you know, that was good. Can we say that was good? Amen. [00:24:39] Some of you feel behind. [00:24:42] Some of you feel left behind. Some of you feel like, well, my season has passed. No, God says you're being formed. [00:24:53] So where is purpose often found? [00:24:57] Because I've heard so many different things inside the church world, most People search for purpose out there while God says, I've already placed you right where you are. [00:25:07] They're looking. [00:25:10] First Corinthians 7:17 says this. [00:25:16] Each of you should continue to live in whatsoever situation the Lord has placed you and remain as you were when God first called you. [00:25:24] Now, you could miss the whole point of that. This is my rule for all churches. You could see the first line and think that that's what God's saying. But you gotta lean into God, okay? You can't just react to God because God's not reactive so that you can't be reactive with him. Okay? So let's look at what God said. Each of you should continue to live in what sort of situation the Lord has placed you in. [00:25:45] That's all you see if you're going through it, but, like, I want out of it. But what is God saying? Remain as you were when God first called you. [00:25:55] You receive the Holy Spirit, you receive divine nature. [00:26:01] God poured into you more than a third of heaven. He gave you the Holy Spirit. [00:26:11] Your situation is trying to make you change your temperature. But you gotta remember, God made you the thermostat for the room. [00:26:19] You understand? [00:26:22] You change atmospheres because of who's in you, right? So no matter what you're going through, you're not supposed to react to what you're going through or even respond to what you're going through. You're supposed to remain who God has called you to be. [00:26:39] Amen. [00:26:40] And in that remaining, there's growth. [00:26:43] You learn more things and you grow and you mature, and you grow and you mature. Lack of growth happens when we rebel against what's happening. [00:26:55] Amen. Is this making sense? [00:26:58] Everybody feeling good? [00:26:59] Okay, I'm going to wrap up soon. I promise. [00:27:02] Purpose is often found in the responsibility in front of you. [00:27:08] Purpose is often found in the responsibility in front of you. [00:27:13] Some of you are new fathers. [00:27:15] That's your responsibility to raise a ministry inside your home. [00:27:22] Purpose is found in the people entrusted to you. [00:27:26] You have people all around you wanting your time for Bible and wanting to talk to you about God, asking you questions about many things. Or you just got people all around you and you're too busy looking for what God has next. That what God has gave you is right there. [00:27:44] Purpose is often found in the burden you can't avoid. [00:27:51] How many love people? I mean, like, love people, right? [00:27:57] That's a good, honest answer. [00:28:00] Usually in church, they're like, we're loved because we're called to be loved. [00:28:04] But that means that you have a different calling than the rest of us. [00:28:08] Purpose is found in the burden you can't ignore. Some of you just can't look past homelessness, no matter how much it's hidden. [00:28:15] Some of you can't look past domestic violence, no matter how. But you know what? Some of you can't look past poor business management. [00:28:23] Some of you can't look past stewardship and think, man, people just need to learn how to manage their money. You know, that's a God calling, too. [00:28:32] Teaching people how to steward is a calling just as much as pastoring. [00:28:38] Don't let the church formalities change your burden. [00:28:43] Let God lead you with your purpose, with what you're burdened by. Because if God gives you a deep ache for something, he may be leading you in a calling for that thing. Does this make sense? [00:28:56] So if it's missions, lean into missions. I mean, get unafraid, but make sure you take your shots and get healthy. [00:29:04] Amen. [00:29:06] If it's homeless people, man, lean into it. But you better learn some patience. [00:29:12] Cause some people are homeless by choice. And you're gonna wanna fix everybody. [00:29:18] But the main purpose you should be living is, how's my home? [00:29:22] How's my home? [00:29:24] So many people make it about all of us when their home is just trash, when the kids are just upside down and their dog is pooping everywhere. Sorry for that last bar. [00:29:37] I just thought I'd make it funny. [00:29:42] Get a house. Divided shall not stand. [00:29:46] That's not just the church. [00:29:48] That's your marriage, that's your family, and then the body to fit jointly inside of that. [00:29:58] Amen. [00:30:01] Nehemiah 1:4 says, When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted and prayed before God in heaven. [00:30:15] Nehemiah heard about the wall needing to be rebuilt, and he was so burdened. As a cupbearer before a king, his face and his countenance was so burdened that the king said, what's wrong with you? [00:30:28] And he said, ah, King, I don't want to burden you with this. I don't want to. I don't want to say too much, but, you know, the wall needs to be rebuilt. And the king said, out of that, out of his honesty, out of his burden, the king said, you know what? You go, I'll send people with you. I'll send things ahead of you. And when you get there, you know you're going to rebuild that wall. Now, was it easy? [00:30:52] Was it easy? [00:30:54] When he got there, Some people had to build with a trowel in One hand and a spear or shield in the other. [00:31:02] Just because God calls you and even sends you all the provision doesn't mean they won't be opposition. [00:31:10] But did they focus on the opposition? The opposition said, you build with stone burnt with ashes. [00:31:18] Even a fox could get through your wall. [00:31:23] Did he let the words of others discourage them? No. They trowed and they fought. They worked and they fought. They knew that God was with them. Joseph said, God is with me. Sometimes voices are just trying to convince you that God's not with you. Sometimes feelings are just trying to convince you that God's not with you. Remain in your purpose. Remember the last thing God said and remain that person and grow in that situation. [00:31:52] Amen. [00:31:53] I'm sorry. Like, handsy today. You know what I'm saying? [00:31:58] I feel kind of like addhd today up here. [00:32:03] I'm not making any other jokes there. I'm gonna stop myself right there. [00:32:07] But God does more than where purpose is found. It's about your everyday purpose. A lot of people are looking for the big purpose to find their purpose. But if you haven't found your everyday purpose, you can't even begin to see your purpose. [00:32:22] Look at the small things first. [00:32:26] Not everyone is called to quit their job and start a ministry. Lord, I wish people would get this, because some people shouldn't be leading churches. Yes, I said that. Leave that on the podcast. [00:32:35] Maybe they'll hear it. [00:32:37] We need pastors to lead churches. [00:32:43] People with the heart. [00:32:44] We need vision for churches. [00:32:48] We need heart of God for churches. But when I heard this, I wept. But if we look at this in First Corinthians 10:31, and that everyday purpose. Let's go back there. Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. [00:33:03] So whatsoever you eat or drink and whatsoever you do, do it all for the glory of God. I'm gonna pause here and give a Sunday school lesson, okay? [00:33:12] When we taught Sunday school and we're teaching kids to pray for their food, it's not just some legalistic thing to go, now you remember to bl. That food's gonna be cursed and you're moving the poisons. That's like saying getting a Diet Coke with a Big Mac is gonna cancel the calories. That's not why we do it. [00:33:27] We pray so that in everything we do, we give glory to God. [00:33:34] Someone didn't believe me, but I was like, oh, this is terrible. [00:33:38] Don't tell this joke. All right, we will. Oh, well. Someone didn't believe me. I said, you know, when I was in Israel, I Said, you know, they have a prayer for when they go to the bathroom. [00:33:48] I say, everything they do, they give thanks. [00:33:50] No, no, they don't. We're at the Wailing Wall, you know that wall you see all them people praying at, right? [00:33:56] And we go to the bathroom. I said, look right there, in Hebrew and in transliteration. Lord God of the universe, we thank you for those that give us orifices to expel waste from our bodies. [00:34:08] It's hilarious, man. I think somebody took it too far. But I mean, praise the Lord. [00:34:14] Awesome. [00:34:15] Because there's such a devotion. [00:34:20] It's just like, now, some of you may get mad, some of you people may not, but I'm gonna talk on balance here. And so my Muslim brother that I met over there, he took care of me before he knew I was Jewish. And that was pretty awesome because we usually wouldn't take care of each other, but there are good people on both sides. [00:34:41] And I was sick in the desert, and he came up to me and I said, man, I'm gonna be. [00:34:47] I need some water or something. He goes, are you gonna be okay? I said, I don't know if I'm gonna be okay. And he says, alhamdulah for give God thanks. [00:34:54] Now, to them, Allah is the same God as our God. And they served the same God up to Moses or Abraham. [00:35:03] And when I let him know I was Jewish, he had already blessed me. [00:35:08] And he's commanded, just like Jews are commanded, that once you bless someone, you can't remove that peace. [00:35:13] He then took care of me even more because he had the opportunity to take care of a Jew that didn't hate him. [00:35:22] You're like, man, this is uncomfortable, man. With everything going on in the world, man, purpose. [00:35:28] Purpose looks past hate. [00:35:31] Purpose looks past gossip. Purpose looks past politics. And purpose looks past who's right or wrong. Purpose lives on purpose. [00:35:41] Come on, somebody. [00:35:45] I can always tell when someone's in their own agenda because they don't let logic or spirit speak to them. [00:35:52] Amen. Come on, somebody. Well, Pastor, I liked you up until that point. [00:35:59] Sometimes purpose looks like integrity when no one's watching. [00:36:03] Compassion when it's inconvenient obedience when it's unseen. [00:36:12] I told someone the other day that said they were called to be a pastor. I said, well, if you look for the hand claps of men and accolades and badges, being in ministry, you want to live a life of disappointment, because the more you love them, the less they'll love you. The more you do for them, the more they want the shoes on your Baby's feet, because you're serving them. [00:36:32] And you're doing it out of a pure place. And if you're looking for a return, you're doing it for the wrong reason. [00:36:38] Jesus. Only return was not so that we'd be perfect. He made a way so that we could live before the Holy Spirit and corrected all those things so that we could walk in the Spirit. He didn't want us to be perfect. You know what he wanted us to be? He wanted us to return to God. [00:36:51] He wanted. And in that relationship, in that holy reflection, things would align because we're surrendered. [00:37:00] There's a table there. [00:37:02] Praise the Lord. So purpose Requires surrender. [00:37:06] Matthew 16, 24 and 25. [00:37:09] Look at this. Then Jesus said to his disciples, if any of you wants to be my followers, you must give up your own way. [00:37:17] It reads in other versions, lay down your life. [00:37:20] We read that as living sacrifice. Like, die be a martyr. [00:37:25] We have been reading it wrong for all these years. This is not about you dying. Jesus died once for all sin. There was one death and one sacrifice required. And that was his death. And after that, all that is required is that you give up your way and follow Him. [00:37:41] Amen. The next verse says, if you try to hang on to your way, you will lose it, your life. [00:37:50] But if you give up your way for my sake, we will save it. Now look at that. [00:37:56] Now if you really look at that and don't read it out of context, I mean, really look at that. [00:38:00] What's he saying? The very thing I gave, you gave up, I'll make better and give it back to you. [00:38:06] Sounds like the Old Testament. I'll exchange beauty for ashes, dancing for mourning. [00:38:12] You give him what you got, and he will make it better. [00:38:16] He will give you something in exchange. You're not losing. You're gaining. [00:38:21] You're not at loss. I gotta live a life of persecution so I can. [00:38:25] Whatever, dude. [00:38:27] You bore me. [00:38:29] Oh, those people are so boring. Goodness gracious, man. [00:38:34] Sorry for the rant. Let me just cut off my mic for a second. [00:38:39] It's boring. [00:38:41] God gives you life more abundant, man. There's times I'm challenged by Claire a lot. A friend of mine, you know, she's sitting right over there. She's Paddy's wife. And he challenges me more than anybody, but praise the Lord. [00:38:55] I'm just kidding. But there is a joy in certain people, and it's not really a challenge. I'm saying this as a compliment that you're going. They look at you and say, why is this such a big Deal. [00:39:08] What's the problem? [00:39:09] You're looking at it from way out here. Come back. How simple it is. My wife looks at me the same way. She's like you stubbed your toe. Joker. Move the table. [00:39:18] Instead of complaining about everything, just move the table. [00:39:24] It's simple. [00:39:26] When the right perspective is in place and when purpose is aligned. [00:39:29] Amen. [00:39:31] This life can be good. [00:39:34] Romans 12:1 2. This talks about the way that we're laying down as far as Dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give up your bodies to God as a living sacrifice. [00:39:46] Lord, I thank you that we are living in a holy set apart space. And in this way we will find what is acceptable and truly the way to worship him. [00:39:55] Don't copy the behavior and customs of the world, but let God transform you in a new person by changing the way you think. [00:40:05] So what is God changing? [00:40:08] The way you think, the way you operate, the way you learn to know God's will, which is good and pleasing and it's and perfect before him. [00:40:20] Let God change the way you think. Like right now, some of you coming to church for the first time in a long time, just looking at every see, this is what they always do. See this, this and see that. You know what you're thinking? You're thinking that these religious people are stupid and you don't need a fairy tale imaginary person in your life to help you and let them talk like that. And you're pointing out everything wrong with it. [00:40:42] Let God change how you think. Because I used to be the same way. I remember smoking a joint, looking at somebody, talking about prayer. I said, yep, you keep needing an imaginary friend. I got Mary Jane. [00:40:55] Let me tell you how that worked out for me. [00:40:58] I almost caught 50 to life. [00:41:00] Mary Jane didn't do nothing but get me in trouble. Praise the Lord. [00:41:06] Lord God help me. [00:41:09] I'm too honest today. [00:41:11] I'm tired from yesterday. Praise the Lord. [00:41:13] Maybe we should have somebody else preach after these events. [00:41:17] Purpose is not self discovery. Listen to me. It's God discovery. [00:41:25] No self help book, no analogy, no philosophy is going to fix this. [00:41:33] Looking for your purpose in life with the Creator until you could discover God. Surrender comes before clarity, guys. [00:41:43] So I want to encourage those that become weary, frustrated as we come to a close. [00:41:48] Some of you are too tired. I've been repeating this scripture to myself a lot lately in Galatians 6 and 9. [00:41:55] Really been asking the question, but I've been doing that God and nothing's changing. [00:42:03] He keeps giving me this verse, let us not become weary in Doing good. For at the proper time we shall reap a harvest. So let us not get tired of doing what is good just at the right time. We will reap a harvest of blessing if you don't give up. [00:42:22] Some of us are right at the doorknob, we're right at the step, we're right there and we are so tired. [00:42:32] Push. [00:42:33] Believe not in your own effort saying God, I'm just going just one more step and see what God does. [00:42:41] You're right there. You're one conversation away from everything changing. You're one decision away from everything changing in your life. Because Hebrews 6 and 10 says, God is not unjust. [00:42:56] He will not forget how hard you've worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers as you still do. [00:43:10] God hasn't forgot you. [00:43:15] God's not punishing you. Just cause all hell's breaking out in your life doesn't mean God's against you. It just means the enemy's trying to get you to turn away. [00:43:22] He has put a car wreck in your Life on the M1 and you just need to get the car towed, get it fixed and keep going. [00:43:30] You don't have to stop traveling, you know, as a former fighter and a good one, I know how to fight and my knuckles can show it more than my face. But if I shave this beard, you'll see a jaw that's this way. [00:43:55] It's hard for me sometimes not to fight. [00:43:57] That is my first response, to get in and get gritty, to dig down and fight back, to be offensive or defensive. [00:44:07] But when I follow God, he just sometimes makes me sit down and rest. [00:44:12] Even when the war is raging around me. He says, go to sleep. I'm like, lord, do you not see what's going on? Well, I'm sure he felt the rocking boat when he fell asleep then too. [00:44:22] Amen. [00:44:24] The storm doesn't determine the outcome. [00:44:27] Your decision to follow God does. [00:44:30] Amen. [00:44:31] Purpose is not validated by the applause of others. [00:44:36] It's validated by the obedience and surrender we keep giving to God. God, I'm going to continue to trust you no matter what I see. [00:44:44] Some people have made a God of anger, a God of war, a God of vengeance. [00:44:52] God being the God of judgment, corrected mankind through the ages and then gave us governance so that we could govern ourselves. [00:44:59] And we still couldn't do that. We corrupted the law. So then he gave us Jesus and we put him on the cross and he could have sent thousands of angels and wiped out the Earth and saved the one or two that really loved him. The 12 at that time. [00:45:14] But he saw past that and he said, father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. [00:45:18] Jesus knew his purpose. Past the pain. [00:45:22] Jesus knew his purpose. Past the problem. [00:45:25] Jesus knew his purpose past the rejection. Jesus knew his purpose past who accepted him or not. When he had 72 disciples in one day and 12 the next day, he knew his purpose when he was running out of money to give everybody. And they said, all we got is this little boy with two fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus knew his purpose. [00:45:42] When Mary Magdalene fell down at her feet before him. He didn't choose man's purpose and man's approval. He chose God's purpose. Jesus knew his purpose. When he was dying on the cross, he knew his purpose. And he said, john, this is now your mother. He was still a son, but he was a son of God first. He was making sure Mary was taken care of. [00:46:01] Jesus knew his purpose. And you do, too. [00:46:06] The things that keep you up, the stories of people's pain or the businesses you want to launch, the creativity that you have, whatever it may be, there's something that is guiding you through life, and it is your North Star, and it is directly linked with Jesus. [00:46:22] That is the thing that you need to lean into. Maybe you're not called to be a pastor, maybe you're not called to do everyday church, but maybe you're called to support it. I don't know. That sounds like an offering message. Just so you know, we already did that message. [00:46:37] Amen, guys. Purpose. [00:46:42] I think we have our friend here that's a tattoo artist. [00:46:45] There you are. [00:46:47] God can use that. [00:46:50] Amen. We have somebody else that's a business owner. Who are you? Where you at? You own a business here? Oh, how many of you own a business? There you are. There you are. [00:47:01] God's using you for that purpose. [00:47:05] The greatest pain I have in life and the greatest distractions I have in life, no matter my moral compass, are when I walk outside of my purpose. [00:47:14] Some of you are meant to just be dads right now. That's your purpose. Friend, Brother. [00:47:20] I mean, when Brian showed up at the table this morning and Sandy, I looked over, I said, oh, they're here. But then they tell me you was here last Sunday. [00:47:31] Amen. [00:47:33] They've never, you know, friends that never leave. You stick closer than brothers. Thank y' all for being here today. [00:47:40] Amen. [00:47:41] Amen. Come on, give the Lord a hand clap of praise. [00:47:45] And then I saw Nik and Cass and Giorgio and With the amount of kids that we've had today, they've decided to go up. Some of them, a couple of them decided to go upstairs and help out. And I really just thank you for putting yourselves past your time off and just giving that. Thank you so much. Praise the Lord. [00:48:07] But for those of you that are still saying, I don't know my purpose, God gave me something to say to you. [00:48:16] For those of you that think you know your purpose, God gave me something to say to you. [00:48:22] Church this message is for everybody. [00:48:25] Romans 8:28 says God now, Timmy, I'm not going that route. [00:48:32] Romans 8:28 saying that all things God works were good to those who called according to his purpose. [00:48:40] This scripture is not about God taking evil and turning it around. [00:48:44] This scripture is about you aligning with God in context. This scripture is about you realizing that God's not surprised by how you feel right now, but you can align yourself with him and find your purpose. [00:48:59] Amen. [00:49:00] There's a reason that you're here today. You're here. You don't know why you came to World Changers today. And maybe I'm not your cup of tea, but something God has said to you inside of this time, whether it be during worship, during prayer, when you're first walking up in a parking lot, this is not about where you are. It's about alignment with God. [00:49:20] Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit to the Lord whatsoever you do, and he will establish your plans. [00:49:30] If you say, lord, I align my life with you. Again, if you're that person that is standing in your purpose or wants to align yourself with God, can you do me a favor? Can you stand to your feet? [00:49:44] If you are wanting to walk in your calling, if you're wanting to walk in your purpose or you've already found it, can you stand to your feet? That's whether you're a business owner, board member, counselor, psychologist, doctor, no matter what you are. So I guess that's everybody. Hey, and maybe your purpose isn't religion. [00:50:11] Maybe that's keeping you set down. [00:50:13] That's okay too. [00:50:15] But I promise you, God will find you right where you are. [00:50:18] Amen. [00:50:20] So I have this to say to everyone because God gave me this last night. [00:50:25] Philippians 2:13 says, for it is God who works in you to fulfill his good purpose. [00:50:32] You will not discover your purpose without linking yourself to God. [00:50:38] It's not about linking yourself to the church. It's not about linking yourself to a man or a pastor or a ministry. It's about first fully linking yourself to God. Saying, God, I'm frustrated. God, I don't feel fulfilled even though I'm busy. No matter what position you're in, no matter where you are in life, link yourself to God. [00:50:59] Nothing's going to blow up and take off until you just do it exactly how God says do it. [00:51:05] Amen. [00:51:06] Let this year be the year of impact for your life. [00:51:10] Let this year be different than last year. How many just wanted to wash off? 2025. Like a bad day. [00:51:19] I can think about 2024-2023-2022-2021, 2020 being the same way. [00:51:26] Like five bad gym experiences. Amen. [00:51:30] But there was so much good inside last year that we can't see because we're so busy on what didn't get fulfilled, what didn't make us happy, what we didn't get to do. What about what God did? [00:51:48] You're alive, ain't you? [00:51:50] Are you happy? [00:51:52] You love the person next to you. [00:51:55] You love yourself. [00:51:57] If you don't change that. [00:51:59] Listen, say my last joke of the day. [00:52:03] I can look in a mirror and see a man overweight with a muffin top. [00:52:08] And men's magazine says that's unhealthy. [00:52:12] I found out yesterday I can still run, catch a kid running into the road and sprint like a gazelle. Praise the Lord. It may not have been pretty and I may have been breathing heavily trying to talk to the person next to me, but I can still move. Praise God. [00:52:25] Amen. [00:52:27] Amen. [00:52:29] But I had a reason to run. And the Bible says, do not run unless you're running from something to something. I fulfilled that Bible scripture yesterday. Amen. [00:52:39] Stop looking at you. [00:52:42] Your age, your wrinkles, your bank account. [00:52:46] Stop looking at those things. [00:52:49] Look at God. [00:52:50] Look at God. [00:52:52] Look at God. [00:52:54] Look at God. How big is he? How much can he do? [00:52:59] Look at God. [00:53:02] Father, I ask that you call missionaries to the mission field, pastors to the pulpit, teachers to living rooms and couches and coffee tables, prophets out of the parking lot and into relationships. [00:53:27] Most of all, God. I ask you that you make clear that as we obey the burden that we've always had is what we're supposed to do. [00:53:38] It's in Jesus name I pray and we all say Amen. Can you give the Lord a hand clap of praise as you're seated? [00:53:48] Thank you for tuning in to today's message. To connect or find out more, you can reach us online at worldchangers.life.
